We’ve changed the name of our central resource team to the National Recruitment Centre (NRC).
The NRC has now teamed up with gap 24/7 so candidates can apply for jobs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
What is the NRC?
The NRC supports all of our onsite clients with everything from sourcing new recruits and processing job applications to pre-screening candidates and arranging inductions.
Why do we have an NRC?
The need for the NRC was identified and brought to life by our UK Implementation and Continuous Improvement Manager Chris Syers in July 2018. gap 24/7 was already providing valuable out of hours support, but our onsite teams needed additional help so they could spend more time on the shop floor with our clients and workers.
Since its launch, the NRC has achieved some incredible statistics in terms of candidate attraction, registration and pre and post-placement support. During peak August 2019 and January 2019, the team processed 5,631 job applications, and screened and progressed 2,183 candidates through interviews to placement for Matalan and The Hut Group alone!
Meet the NRC team
Sarah Syers – Operations Director – Support and Development.
Sarah has worked in recruitment for over 18 years and knows exactly what it’s like juggling everything that comes into branch, and onsite contracts. Sarah heads the NRC team and is constantly looking at new ways to enhance our service and support our candidates, staff and clients.

Sophie Buckley – National Support – Branch Network
Sophie predominately focuses on our branch network and ensures all our job boards are up to date with the latest roles. Sophie is also responsible for CV searches and ensures candidates are suitable for roles. She completes reports for clients on a weekly basis and can send up to 2,000 candidates across a month!
Sabina Buzac – National Support, Onsite
Sabina is largely responsible for our onsite vacancies – she can arrange over 100 interviews for candidates every day! Sabina completes all confirmation calls to ensure candidates know where they are going and if they need any additional support.
Adina Rudu – Resourcing and Social Media Executive
Adina is our social media expert and ensures all our roles are posted on job boards. She spends a lot of time speaking with candidates and answering their questions about anything from job descriptions, directions, support with bus routes and even where to find a bank! Adina connects with around 50 candidates daily.
