Our client based in Chester is currently looking to recruit an Area Sales Manager. Reporting to the Commercial Director, as the Area Sales Manager for the South West Region of the UK, you will work autonomously managing existing and future customer base, developing value added business, competitor awareness and working closely with existing sales team and other stakeholders to ensure continued improvement of customer service.

Pay & Hours of Work

  • Home-Based / 35 hours a week
  • £35k - £38k per annum


  • Maintaining and developing sales and margin levels with existing customer base
  • Identifying new potential business opportunities on all products supplied
  • Developing value added business
  • Supporting business development strategy
  • Liaising with the sales office team for support
  • Maintaining up-to-date CRM records
  • Reporting on activity and performance to agreed weekly plan
  • Maintain awareness of competitor activities
  • Liaising with the Accounts Team to ensure credit control guidelines are met
  • Project professional company image at all times


  • Proven track record in delivering results and exceeding targets within a field-based role
  • Ability to build and maintain excellent relationships with internal and external contacts
  • Forward thinking approach to work with a high level of self-motivation
  • Excellent negotiation, time management and organisational skills
  • Team player with ability work unsupervised using own initiative
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
  • Superb communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • High level of numeracy and literacy
  • Full/clean UK driving licence
  • 5 GCSE's including English & Maths Grade C or above
  • Formal sales qualification plus 5 years general sales experience
  • Proven track record in sales
  • Knowledge of Builders and/or roofing merchants
  • Knowledge of end user contractors/house builders
  • Excellent knowledge or roofing sector an advantage
