gap professional are currently recruiting an experienced HR Officer for our well establised and successful food manufacturing client in Cleckheaton, West Yorkshire.

Key Responsibilities:

Managing a team consisting of a HR Administrator and 2 HR Coordinators this role is heavily focused on Employee Relations.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Answering employee queries
  • Arranging meetings
  • Provide support to managers on a range of ER issues
  • Providing support and advice in on disciplinary and grievance
  • Absence Management
  • Monitor and chase probationary reviews
  • Running reports from the HR and T&A systems
  • Systems inputting such as starters, leavers, contract changes, salary increases, equal opportunity data etc
  • Dealing with employment and tenancy reference requests
  • Issuing offer letters, contracts and welcome packs to potential employees
  • Ensuring all documentation from the welcome pack is completed, signed, returned and the relevant data inputted onto the HR system
  • Recruitment
  • Ensuring staffing levels are met at all times
  • Maintain and update the HR system to ensure employee records are up to date and accurate
  • Full management of Maternity and Paternity including meeting with employees to explain entitlements, updating spreadsheet on a regular basis, issuing documentation to employees, keeping managers and payroll informed of leave dates and return dates etc

Experience, attributes & skills sought:

you will be a self starter with HR experience; ideally from within a fast paced environment, where you will have handled a high volume of HR related queries. You will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. You will also be able to demonstrate a proactive approach, excellent customer service, organisational and administrative skills. A positive attitude, attention to detail and an understanding of how HR adds value will also be required.

  • Good working knowledge of employment law legislation
  • Must be a good problem solver with the ability to identify issues and resolve these in a timely manner
  • Must be able an excellent communicator both written and verbally
  • Must be able to prioritise and plan own work activities to use time effectively
  • Must be organised with attention to detail
  • Must be dependable and able to follow instructions and able to demonstrate the ability to work with little supervision
  • Self motivated, highly resilient and tenacious with a "can do - will do" attitude
  • Great all round administrative skills with strong PC skills; ideally MS Office
  • CIPD qualification or part qualification (preferred but not essential) to Level 5 or above
  • Able to maintain confidentiality
  • A flexible approach to work and the ability to work with changing demands
  • Ideally, you will have experience working within a manufacturing environment
