Our client based in the Wrexham area are looking to recruit a QA Supervisor to join their team immediately on a permanent basis. The role holder will be responsible for leading the QA team to ensure full implementation of the quality assurance system by providing technical support to the production, maintenance and hygiene teams. Ensuring that products are produced safely and in line with legislative requirements, including bird welfare and to meet customer quality standards consistently. You will work on improvement projects aligned to the long-term strategy of the company and will be instrumental in creating a sustainable work environment for the team and ensuring operational effectiveness is maximised, KPI's are met and upholding technical and quality standards through the development of people, processes and systems. As QA Supervisor you will also deputise for the Technical Manager in periods of absence.

  • Monday - Friday / 6:30am - 4:30pm

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of QA's ensuring they work safely and efficiently.
  • Manage the day to day operations of the quality assurance team including ensuring daily QA daily report and QA paperwork checks are completed.
  • Maintenance of quality assurance system.
  • Ensure corrective actions are taken to ensure products are maintained within specification.
  • Apply quality standards and audits in accordance with BRC, Red Tractor and other customer standards.
  • Ensure food safety HACCP plan is adhered to at all times.
  • Supervise a team of QA's ensuring they work safely and efficiently.
  • Manage the day to day operations of the quality assurance team including ensuring daily QA daily report and QA paperwork checks are completed.
  • Maintenance of quality assurance system.
  • Ensure corrective actions are taken to ensure products are maintained within specification.
  • Apply quality standards and audits in accordance with BRC, Red Tractor and other customer standards.
  • Ensure food safety HACCP plan is adhered to at all times.
  • Ensuring traceability is maintained on all products and packaging.
  • Drive GMP standards across factory and understood by all staff.
  • Ensuring that quality standards are adhered too and that products adhere to specification throughout the process.
  • Ensuring that food safety, legality and integrity is maintained at all times.
  • Supervise a team of QA's ensuring they work safely and efficiently.
  • Manage the day to day operations of the quality assurance team including ensuring daily QA daily report and QA paperwork checks are completed.
  • Maintenance of quality assurance system.
  • Ensure corrective actions are taken to ensure products are maintained within specification

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience of supervising / managing a team in a FMCG environment.
  • Previous QA experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of food safety legislation.
  • Proven track record of achieving improvements within area of responsibility.
  • Strong influencing skill.
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement performance whilst leading other.
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to liaise with varying stakeholders at all levels, both internal and external.
  • Self- motivated and customer focused
  • Commercial acumen and financially aware.
  • Have a good knowledge of certification welfare schemes i.e. Red Tractor Assurance.
  • Commitment to attend company training courses to ensure manufacturing capability keeps pace or exceeds customer requirements and corporate responsibilities.

Desirable Requirements

  • Knowledge of HACCP, BRC Standards, Food Legislation, Food Hygiene, Red Tractor.
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Advanced Food Safety certificate.
  • Intermediate certificate in applied HACCP principles.
