Gap professional are operating as an employment agency on behalf of its client, who are you looking for a SENCO - Primary
Job Type: Permanent
Location: Quidenham, Norwich
Hours of work: 40 hours per week, 40 weeks of the year
Salary: £24,500 - £27,500 depending on qualifications and experience
Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and adopt the most effective teaching approaches for all pupils.
  • Monitor teaching and learning activities to meet the needs of SEN pupils and track AFL date for the purposes of Annual Reviews, PEP's, LAC Review's and assist with general School Reporting.
  • Set targets for raising achievement among all primary pupils.
  • Liaise with other schools to ensure continuity of support and learning when transferring SEN pupils.
  • Set up systems for identifying, reviewing and monitoring need.
  • To work with the Head and other staff on developing the effectiveness of transition arrangements and integration into provision.


Education and experience:

  • SENCO/Access Arrangement Assessor qualifications preferred, or the desire to acquire these.
  • Relevant knowledge and experience of pupils with SEN.
  • Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection Procedures.
  • Experience of managing a range of approaches to behavior, including managing behaviors that challenge.


Skills:

  • Commitment to the role, the desire to put children first and treat them as individuals.
  • Be positive and creative in meeting pupil's needs.
  • Work on your own as well as part of a team.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff and professionals with good interpersonal skills.
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Competent ICT skills.
